This tier includes all components of Tiers 1 and 2, and adds comprehensive, individualized PhD application and positioning support for students seeking an intensive, high-touch preparation experience.
Participants receive four strategy sessions and one mock interview session, each lasting 60 minutes, designed to address the full spectrum of PhD preparation. These sessions focus on long-term academic positioning, refinement of research interests, alignment with prospective laboratories, and strategic planning tailored to each student’s background and career trajectory. In addition, students receive detailed feedback on their curriculum vitae and cover letter, with an emphasis on presenting research experience, technical skills, and scholarly potential in a manner consistent with competitive PhD and research-intensive programs. This tier also includes a review of principal investigator (PI) outreach strategy, including guidance on how to identify appropriate mentors, structure effective inquiry emails, and communicate research fit professionally and concisely.
To support interview readiness, participants complete two one-to-one mock interview sessions, each lasting 30 minutes, simulating PhD or research program interviews. These sessions focus on articulating research interests, defending methodological choices, and responding confidently to technical and conceptual questions.
Best suited for: Career-switchers, candidates seeking end-to-end comprehensive PhD preparation, or International applicants, including application strategy, communication with potential advisors, and interview readiness.
