About the Founder and Instructor
Sahil Bajaj, PhD
Dr. Sahil Bajaj is a neuroscientist and neuroimaging researcher with expertise in understanding how the human brain functions, how it changes with disease or treatment, and how it supports behavior, cognition, and mental health. His work spans stroke, mild traumatic brain injury, sleep, and psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. He applies both advanced machine learning approaches and traditional statistical techniques to study brain structure, function, and behavior.
He is deeply passionate about the breadth and importance of neuroimaging, a field with critical applications in clinical care, scientific research, and advanced academic training such as PhD programs. Through his work, Dr. Bajaj strives to help students appreciate the value of neuroscience and neuroimaging, understand the diverse career pathways in the field, and become well-prepared if they choose to pursue neuroscience professionally.
Dr. Bajaj completed his PhD in 2015 followed by postdoctoral training from 2015 to 2019. He served as an Assistant Professor at Boys Town National Research Hospital from 2019 to 2023 and is currently an Assistant Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (2023–present).
