Why Neuroimaging Matters?
Neuroimaging is a powerful tool with broad applications in neuroscience and medicine. It enables researchers to study mental health and other brain disorders across all ages, understand how diseases and treatments affect the brain, and explore brain-behavior relationships in both health and disease. At BRAIN, students are exposed to these real-world applications, gaining hands-on experience with techniques and concepts directly relevant to cutting-edge neuroscience research.
Program Highlights
Advanced Training | Expert Mentorship | Real Research Experience
The Bajaj Research Academy in Neuroimaging (BRAIN) provides a tiered, research-focused training program designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in neuroscience and brain imaging. Students gain hands-on experience in advanced neuroimaging techniques, including MRI-based brain imaging, data preprocessing, visualization, and scientific interpretation, building both technical skills and conceptual understanding.
Structured mentorship from Dr. Sahil Bajaj is a core component of the program, offering personalized guidance through research proposal development, one-on-one strategy sessions, feedback on CVs and research statements, PI email strategy coaching, and up to 4 hours of dedicated mentoring during the first year of PhD training when needed.
The program also provides comprehensive PhD readiness support, including mock interviews, proposal coaching, and career-focused guidance for competitive academic programs, research internships, and early-stage research independence.
BRAIN fosters a curiosity-driven, inclusive learning environment, emphasizing critical thinking, research maturity, and confidence-building. Students who complete the program receive a Certificate of Advanced Training, recognizing mastery of high-level neuroimaging skills and readiness for rigorous graduate-level research.
Across all tracks — from the Neuroimaging Foundation through PhD Readiness and Research Leadership — BRAIN combines advanced technical training, individualized mentorship, and authentic research experience to equip students for long-term success in neuroscience and brain imaging careers.
